GRANDVIEW / SHERMAN — The Illinois State Police reported two closures Monday morning along Interstate 55 in news releases to the media.
At 1 a.m., ISP Troop 6 responded to a traffic accident that involved a lane blockage on Interstate 55 northbound near mile market 99. Traffic was diverted off the interstate at mile marker 98, which is the Ridgely Road exit near Springfield’s northeastern suburb of Grandview.
After a crash reconstruction and cleanup, the northbound lanes were reopened at 3:33 a.m.
At 7:20 a.m., a disabled commercial vehicle was reported blocking the southbound ramp at mile marker 105 in Sherman. Troop 6 troopers would allow traffic to pass the disabled vehicle on the shoulder. That ramp was reopened at 7:56 a.m. after the removal of the vehicle.
