Shelby County Peace Meal
Note: Reservations required – please call Debra Martz at (217) 774-5595. Skim milk and desserts with no sugar are available at many locations upon request. Ask the site supervisor for more information. The Peace Meal Senior Nutrition Program suggests a donation of $3.50 for each congregate and home-delivered meal. No elderly person shall be denied a meal because of their inability to contribute towards the cost of the meal. The Peace Meal Senior Nutrition Program accepts the Illinois Link Card.
- March 26: Grilled chicken, fettuccini alfredo, broccoli, stewed tomatoes, pea salad
- March 27: Beef Manhattan, mashed potatoes and gravy, seasoned green beans, hot spiced peaches, bread, cookie
- March 28: Meatball sandwich with marinara, seasoned peas, potato salad, chunky applesauce, mini sub bun
- March 29: CLOSED FOR GOOD FRIDAY
- April 1: Sloppy Joes, baked beans, fire-roasted corn, fruit, whole grain bun
- April 2: Biscuits and gravy, paco veggie blend, warm fruit, fruit juice, whole-grain biscuit
- April 3: Beef and noodles, seasoned greens, carrots, banana pudding
- April 4: Taco salad with meat, lettuce, beans, tomatoes, and salsa, fruit, whole-grain chips, dessert
- April 5: Chicken salad, minestrone soup, cantaloupe and honeydew, cranberry salad, whole-grain bun
- April 8: Breakfast casserole, warm Michigan fruit, roasted sweet potatoes, fruit juice, choice of muffin or cinnamon roll
- April 9: Fried chicken, twice-baked mashed potatoes, honey-glazed baby carrots, kidney bean salad, choice of bread or roll
- April 10: Lasagna, green beans, romaine side salad, berry crisp
- April 11: BBQ riblet, parmesan roasted potatoes, creamed corn, cole slaw, mini sub roll
- April 12: Chicken strips, mashed potatoes with white gravy, garlic vegetables, choice of fruit or salad, choice of bread or roll
The Shelby County Senior is located at 325 E. North Ninth Street inside Forest Park in Shelbyville.
