SHELBYVILLE, Mo. — The Shelbyville Board of Aldermen met in regular session on Monday, April 1, 2024, at the city office at 6 p.m. Present were Mayor Mike Vanskike, Aldermen Brad Willey, Jerry Myers, Gene Boyles, Rob Southers. Gina Mesmer, Randy Shores, and Nathan Minear.
Mayor Vanskike opened the meeting at 6 p.m.
Alderman Myers made a motion to approve the March minutes and Alderman Southers seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Alderman Southers made a motion to pay bills and Alderman Boyles seconded the motion. Motion passed.
The board reviewed the first quarter budget report.
The board discussed the summer mowing and will run the ad again and lower the age to 16 years old which can apply.
The board approved an invoice from Brush Whackers to remove two trees on N. Shelby Street for $500.00.
The board approved engineering services from Klingner Engineering for water lines at the March meeting. Further discussion on what is going to be required from DNR and EPA in the future the board decided to hold off on engineering services at this time.
Bulk pickup is on April 26.
Nathan discussed the future of the water and sewer systems and the UV at the lagoon. Discussion on replacing valves and how many are needed.
The next meeting will be Monday, May 6, 2024.
Alderman Southers made a motion to adjourn at 7:10 pm and Alderman Boyles seconded the motion.
