BLOOMINGTON — In the two weeks following the formal introduction of the team, the Bloomington Bison has made some major strides leading up to its inaugural season later this year.
According to a news release from the team Wednesday, the team has received dozens of inquiries about partnership opportunities. Editor’s Note: Heartland Newsfeed Radio Network submitted a request to become part of what may become its radio broadcast network. In addition, over 300 resumes for various employment opportunities were received, and 624 full-season ticket plan deposits were purchased.
On top of that, the Bison’s social media presence has skyrocketed to over 6,000 across all of the team’s social platforms. The team also discovered an independent Facebook fan group that has amassed over 800 members and is incredibly active.
“The reception and support from the community has been incredible,” said Sean Hallett, interim team CEO and president. “This city has a yearning for professional hockey. October can’t come soon enough.”
The Bison is currently working on building out their front office space, which will be at 316 W. Washington St. across from the Grossinger Motors Arena. The Hallett ownership team anticipates occupation of the space by March 4.
March 4 is currently the tentative date for the organization to provide an additional business update, which would include details on an open house event for season ticket holders to select their seats in person.
