NOKOMIS — Nokomis native Reid Detmers will be signing autographs at the Bottomley-Ruffing-Schalk Baseball Museum on Saturday, Nov. 26. The event will occur from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Detmers is the author of the only complete-game no-hitter in Major League Baseball in 2022. The Los Angeles Angels star will be at the museum, located at 121 W. State St. in Nokomis.
Autographs will be $5 per item with a limit of five items per person. Cards and photos will be available for purchase at the museum. Items may also be brought in to be signed. Doors to the event will open at 1:45 p.m. on Nov. 26. All proceeds will be split between the museum and Camren’s Causes.
Available for purchase that day will be Topps NOW cards commemorating Detmers’ no-hitter that he threw on May 12. It also includes his immaculate inning when he struck out three Texas Rangers batters on nine pitches on July 31.
Detmers is the only rookie in the history of Major League Baseball to accomplish both feats. He is only the third pitcher ever to record both in the same season.
