NOKOMIS (Heartland Newsfeed) — The immediate Heartland Newsfeed coverage area in central Illinois is under a winter weather advisory.
The alert was issued at 3:34 a.m. via the National Weather Service in St. Louis, citing that the advisory is effect from 6 p.m. Tuesday evening running overnight until 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.
A combination of ice and snow will culminate in rough travel conditions, which includes the morning commute on Wednesday.
Total accumulation expected in the region is about a half-inch of snow and roughly one-tenth of an inch of ice.
The advisory is in effect for regions within central, east central and southeastern Missouri as well as southwestern and south central Illinois.

Currently, most of the roads in the region are already partially covered in snow and ice, so please take proper precautions while on the road.
