MT. STERLING — The Brown County Sheriff’s Department reports the following blotter activity from November 27, 2023 to December 9, 2023:
TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS: Unless stated, no injuries were reported and damage to the vehicle was over $1500.00.
11/27/2023: Jordon T. Whitford, Augusta: Was traveling on IL 99 @ 1125N and struck a deer.
11/28/2023: Charles E. Shrader, Loraine, was southbound on IL 99, left the roadway, overcorrected and crossed into the northbound lane. He then left the roadway striking an electric pole. Mr. Schader was transported by ambulance to Blessing Hospital for treatment.
11/29/2023: Steven R. Cooley, Versailles: Was traveling on 1075E @ Il 99N and struck a deer. Paul H. Musik, Camp Point: Was traveling on US 24 @ 600E St. and struck a deer. Rebecca J. Barlow, Clayton: Was traveling on US 24 @ 600E St. and struck a deer.
11/30/2023: Nicole E. Jackson, Beardstown: Was traveling Eastbound on CH 6 @ 080E and swerved to avoid a black truck in her lane, leaving the roadway and traveled 140 feet off the roadway. She and a juvenile passenger were transported by ambulance to Blessing Hospital for treatment.
12/02/2023: A juvenile from Augusta: Was traveling on US 24 @ 501E St. and struck a deer.
12/04/2023: Jessica K. Flynn, Mt. Sterling: Was traveling on 800N @ 210E and struck a deer.
12/06/2023: Oliver B. Leleika, Jacksonville: Was traveling on IL 99 @ CR 1050E St. and struck an unknown animal.
12/09/2023: Ashley J. Kassing, Mt. Sterling: Was traveling on 550N, struck loose gravel and left the roadway coming to rest in several trees.
