HILLSBORO — The following is a list of cases taken before the Circuit Court of Montgomery County in Hillsboro between mid-January and mid-February 2024 and are as follows:
- Gene A. Cravens, 60, of Mount Olive, pled guilty to an amended misdemeanor charge of theft less than $500 on Jan. 26. He was sentenced to a fine of $500 and court costs and six days in jail with credit for three served.
- Jarvis R. Denning, 35, of Witt, pled guilty to a felony charge of aggravated battery on Feb. 9. He was sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections with credit for 93 days served and a fine of $75. An additional charge of felony aggravated battery was dismissed.
- Michael S. Haycraft, 36, of Litchfield, pled guilty to a felony charge of aggravated battery on Jan. 22. He was sentenced to 30 months probation, a fine of $500 and court costs, and 30 days in jail with credit for two days served.
- Jessica M. Massey, 34, of Litchfield, pled guilty to a charge of felony possession of narcotics on Feb. 9. She was sentenced to two years probation, four days in jail with credit for two days served, and a fine of $75 and court costs. Other charges against Massey were dismissed and included felony possession of a controlled substance and felony possession of meth.
- Erica N. Mastrolia, 32, of Decatur, pled guilty to an amended charge of felony residential burglary on Feb. 9. She was sentenced to 30 months probation, 16 days in jail with credit for eight days served. and a fine of $75 and court costs. Additional felony charges of possession of meth and possession of a controlled substance were dismissed.
- Kyra I. Mostajo, 41, of Livingston, pled guilty to an amended misdemeanor charge of theft less than $500 on Jan. 22. She was sentenced to pay a fine of $500 and court costs and serve 82 days in jail with credit for 41 days served.
- Keith D. Smith, 48, of Nokomis, pled guilty to a felony charge of delivery of meth between five and 15 grams on Feb. 7. He was sentenced to two years probation, four days in jail with credit for two days served, and a fine of $500 and court costs.
- Jeremy A. Striplin, 42, of Waggoner, pled guilty to an amended felony charge of driving on a revoked/suspended license on Feb. 7. He was sentenced to one year and three months in the Department of Corrections with credit for 18 days served, $75 fine and court costs.
- Terry L. Swan, 41, of Gillespie, pled guilty on Jan. 31 to a charge of felony possession of meth less than five grams. He was sentenced to four years and six months in the Department of Corrections with credit for 519 days served and a fine of $75 and court costs. Additional charges of driving on a revoked license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and no valid registration were dismissed.
- Felony charges of theft and attempt to elude an officer against Robert T. Howard, 47, of Coffeen, were dismissed on Jan. 23.
- A felony charge of driving on a revoked/suspended license against Eric D. Hurley, 42, of Mount Olive, was dismissed on Jan. 22.
- Brad D. Tolen, 40, of Nokomis, pled guilty to an amended charge of felony possession of meth less than five grams on Feb. 8. He was sentenced to two years and six months in the Department of Corrections with credit for two days served, a fine of $75 and court costs.
- Steven T. Torbeck, 45, of Vandalia, pled guilty to a felony charge of tampering with a security/fire/life system on Jan. 31. He was sentenced to three years and six months in the Department of Corrections with credit for eight days served, a fine of $100 and court costs. Other felony charges of domestic battery, driving on a revoked/suspended license, and operating on an uninsured motor vehicle were dismissed.
- David L. Bennett, 40, of Springfield, pled guilty to felony burglary on Feb. 23. He was sentenced to 48 months probation, a $500 fine, court costs and 180 days in jail with credit for 90 days already served.
- Charise A. Carter, 44, of Virden, pled guilty to an amended charge of felony possession of a narcotic. She was ordered to pay a fine of $75 and any additional court costs. She was sentenced to two years probation and 18 days in jail with credit for nine days served. An additional felony charge of possession of meth was dismissed.
- Austin D. Courier, 28, of Virden, pled guilty to a felony charge of burglary without causing damage on Feb. 15. He was ordered to pay a fine of $150 and court costs and was sentenced to two years probation. In addition, he was sentenced to ten days in jail with credit for five days served.
- A plea of guilty to an amended charge of felony home invasion causing injury and felony criminal trespass with personal injury was entered by Roy L. Glasco, 29, of Carlinville, on Feb. 15. He was sentenced to 30 months probation, 16 days in jail with credit for eight days served, a fine of $500 and court costs.
- Steven J. Hess, 43, of Hillsboro, pled guilty to a charge of felony possession of meth less than five grams on Feb. 22. He was sentenced to two years probation, four days in jail with credit for two days served, a fine of $75 and court costs. An additional charge of driving on a suspended license was dismissed.
- A felony charge of criminal trespass of a residence with person present was dismissed against Christopher Q. Hubbart, 39, of Coffeen, on Feb. 12. • Charges against Brian D. McCulley, 27, of Hillsboro, for felony aggravated battery to a peace officer and felony criminal damage to government property were dismissed on Feb.13. • A felony charge of possession of meth was dismissed against Jacob R. Morgan, 38, of Staunton, on Feb. 16.
- Charles E. Rayphole, 57, of Litchfield, pled guilty to felony possession of meth less than five grams on Feb. 14. He was sentenced to two years probation, four days in jail with credit for two days served, fine of $75 and court costs. An additional felony charge of aiding/abetting/possession of a stolen vehicle was dismissed.
- Marty A. Rolland, 54, of Litchfield, pled guilty to a felony charge of delivery of meth less than five grams on Feb. 13. He was sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections with credit for 67 days served, a fine of $75 and court costs. Felony charges of possession of meth between 100 and 400 grams and use of a vehicle/structure/property for meth were dismissed.
- William L. Snow, 47, of Springfield, pled guilty to a felony charge of violating an order of protection on Feb. 21. He was sentenced to four years and six months in the Department of Corrections with credit for eight days served, a fine of $75 and court costs.
- On Feb. 22 Shane J. Thomas, 40, of Jacksonville, pled guilty to felony charges of possession of meth less than five grams. He was sentenced to 30 months probation, and ordered to serve two days in jail with credit for one day served plus a fine of $500 and any court costs. A charge of improper traffic lane usage was dismissed.
- Michael D. Wofford, 45, of Staunton, pled guilty to a felony charge of possession of meth less than five grams on Feb. 23. He was sentenced to three years in the Department of Corrections with credit for 283 days served plus a $75 fine and court costs.
- Charges against Ronald C. Ziegler, 46, of Rockford, for felony possession of meth less than five grams, felony aggravated battery with great bodily harm, and intimidation/ physical harm were dismissed on Feb.12.
