NAPERVILLE — North Central College junior pitcher Luke Lamm was selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic District Baseball Team on Thursday.
Lamm, a native of Bolingbrook, and Plainfield East High School graduate, earned Academic All-District honors for the first time after achieving a 3.86 grade-point average (GPA) as an Accounting major.
He finished the 2021 campaign ranked second in NCAA Division III with 11 wins on record. This broke North Central College’s single-season record while setting season records for strikeouts (92) and innings pitches (87.2)
Additionally, Lamm was a Division III All-American. Additional honors came from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), and the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Pitcher of the Year.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District Team is part of the CoSIDA Academic All-America program, which honors student-athletes annually who have succeeded at the highest level in athletics and in the classroom.
Members of the eight First-Team Academic All-District squads in each division advance to the national ballot, where they have the opportunity to be selected for the Academic All-America Team.
Individuals are selected through voting by CoSIDA, a 2,000-plus member organization. This organization consists of sports public relations professionals for colleges and universities in the United States and Canada.
