SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Legends Classic is coming to Robin Roberts Stadium later this summer.
The inaugural annual Classic will feature legends of both the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs. The teams will square off against each other in this special matchup, according to a news release from the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes. The Springfield Lucky Horseshoes is a member of the Prospect League, a partner league with Major League Baseball.
The Classic will be a fun-filled night where baseball fans will be able to watch their favorite MLB legends from both teams.
The rosters for both teams will have supplemental members comprising of local celebrities and dignitaries playing for their choice of team.
All participants will be raising money for their respective Central Illinois charity of choice leading up to the event.
The Lucky Horseshoes will be making further announcements in the upcoming weeks relating to the participants. Those announcements will be on their social media channels.
Tickets are now available for the August 27 event, as well as VIP meet and greet packages for the event.
